Simple present tense ; Cara Mudah Menguasai Tenses
Simple present tense adalah tense yang paling sering digunakan. Simple present tense berfungsi untuk menyatakan kalimat yang bersifat fakta, kebiasaan atau sesuatu yang terjadi setiap saat.
Rumus dasar Simple present tense : Subyek + Verb1
Contoh : I Eat, You Go, She Eats, He Jumps
Rumus Simple present tense :
1. Kalimat Positif (+)
- S + V1
Rumus ini digunakan jika setelah Subyek adalah Verb. Contoh :
I read book (saya membaca buku)
They go to school ( mereka pergi ke sekolah )
She goes to school ( dia perempuan pergi ke sekolah )
Ivan writes an article ( ivan menulis sebuah artikel ), ivan setara dengan he.
Aisyah takes a pen ( aisyah mengambil pena ), aisyah setara dengan she
PENTING !!!
a. Apabila Subyek Simple present tense adalah I, You, we, they, maka Verb yang digunakan Verb1 tanpa tambahan s/es.
I read book, They go to school, we learn english.
b . Apabila subyek Simple present tense adalah he, she, it, maka Verb yang digunakan adalah Verb1 ditambah s atau es. Aturan penambahan -s atau -es ditentukan oleh huruf terakhir Verb/ kata kerja tersebut. Penambahan -es digunakan untuk verb yang berakhiran dengan bunyi desis dan "y" dengan mengubah "y" menjadi "i" terlebih dulu.
Contoh : kiss : kisses, watch : watches, try : tries.
- S + to be ( am, is, are )
Rumus ini digunakan jika setelah Subyek adalah BUKAN Verb, bisa jadi setelahnya kata sifat atau keterangan tempat. Contoh :
I am a teacher ( saya seorang guru )
Toni is a manger ( toni adalah seorang manager )
Fatimah is so beautiful ( fatimah itu sangat cantik )
I am in office ( saya berada di kantor )
INGAT !!!
I Pasangannya am.
You, We, They pasangannya are
He, she, it pasangannya is.
2. Kalimat negatif (-)
- S + don't atau doesn't + Verb
Don't digunakan untuk Subyek I, you, we, they dan setelah Subyek adalah Verb/ kata kerja, sedangkan doesn't digunakan untuk subyek he, she it dan setelahnya adalah verb/ kata kerja. Contoh :
I don't read book ( saya tidak membaca buku )
They don't go to school ( mereka tidak pergi ke sekolah )
She doesn't go to school ( dia perempuan tidak pergi ke sekolah )
Ivan doesn't write an article ( ivan tidak menulis sebuah artikel )
Aisyah doesn't take a pen ( aisyah tidak mengambil pena )
- S + to be ( am, is, are ) + not. ( jangan lupa, to be ( am, is, are ) digunakan jika setelah Subyek bukan Verb / kata kerja ). Contoh :
I am not a teacher ( saya bukan seorang guru )
Toni is not a manger ( toni bukan seorang manager )
Fatimah is not so beautiful ( fatimah tidak terlalu cantik )
I am not in office ( saya tidak berada di kantor )
3. Kalimat interogatif (?)
- Do / don't + S + V1 ?
Does / doesn't + S + V1 ?
Contoh :
Do you read book ? ( Apakah kamu membaca buku ? )
Do they go to school ? ( Apakah mereka pergi ke sekolah ? )
- To be ( am, is, are ) + S + Bukan Verb ?
Contoh :
Is toni a manager ? ( Apakah toni seorang manager ? )
Is Fatimah so beautiful ? ( apakah fatimah itu sangat cantik ? )
Are you in office ? ( Apakah kamu berada di kantor ? )
Contoh Statements positif (+)
I work #I am beautiful
He works # He is handsome
She works # she is beautiful
It works # it is beautiful
You work #you are beautiful
They work # they are beautiful
We work # we are beautiful
Contoh Statements negatif (-)
I don't work # i am not beautiful
He doesn't work # he is not handsome
She doesn't work # she is not beautiful
It doesn't work # it is not beautiful
You don't work # you are not beautiful
They don't work # they are not beautiful
We don't work # we are not beautiful
Contoh Statements interogatif (?)
Do I work ? # i am beautiful ?
Does he work ? # is he handsome ?
Does She work ? # is she beautiful ?
Does It work ? # is it beautiful ?
Do You work ? # are you beautiful ?
Do They work ? # are they beautiful ?
Do We work ? # are we beautiful ?
